There is nothing quite like growing your own organic food. Not only is it healthier, it tastes better too. Plus, you will have the satisfaction of a job well done. However, what do you do if you don’t have much space? A great option would be to use the tower method of growing potatoes. In this video, you will learn how to make these towers of potatoes.
Planting potatoes in towers is an innovative way to grow these delicious spuds without taking up much space. This frees up more space for things like a potato storage facility. The towers only require some simple materials to make. You will need some wire fencing, zip-ties, a gardening stake, and your soil. Start by rolling the fence into a cylindrical shape. Then, zip-tie it to the garden stake so that it is facing vertically. On the inside, take some straw and spread it out like a nest. Then, put in your soil and potatoes. After the potatoes are sufficiently spread out, add another layer of straw and repeat until you reach a few inches from the top. Water your potatoes daily and untie the zip-tie once it is ready to harvest. To harvest, simply knock over the tower and enjoy your fresh potatoes.
